Our flutes are hand crafted from river/sugar cane, bamboo, and a variety of hardwoods. This bamboo is hand selected and cut from material that is at least 3 years into the growing cycle. This material is then cured and prepared using a heat treating process. Our wood flutes are bored on a specialized horizontal-boring lathe, ensuring there are no glue joints to fail. This solid-boring technique also improves the sound quality and resonance of the instrument. All of our flutes have a sound mechanism that is milled flat with a milling machine, and the playing holes are burned in using specialty tools. All of our flutes are precision-tuned on a Peterson strobe tuner, impregnated with a wood hardener, finished with a mono-urethane formula, and waxed with carnauba wax.
